New Year, New Decade

It's 2020! A new year, a new decade. It is the time where most people are writing down their goals, starting new habits, and wondering about what is coming up in the new year. What are your goals for 2020? Have you written down the new habits you want to start this year? I try to have my goals written down within the first month of the year. I will share with you a few of my goals and habits I want to start this year.
First, I hope to write more posts this year. At the beginning of 2019, I was doing pretty well. At the end of the year, I didn't do as much writing as I wanted to do. This year I'm hoping to write two posts per month. In regards to the contents of the posts, I am hoping to write more reviews on things such as books, movies, and music. In February I plan on taking a musical adventure through Wagner's The Ring Cycle operas. This cycle contains four large opera works, seventeen hours of opera. I enjoy listening to opera, but we'll see how if I still enjoy listening to opera after this monstrous cycle!
Second, I am hoping to cook through Marcella Hazan's Essentials of Italian Cooking cookbook this year. This cookbook contains 500 recipes! I hope to write about fascinating techniques I acquire along the way as well as shoot some photos of the recipes. I have only cooked four recipes from the cookbook this year. Lots of dishes to eat and new skills to gain.
Third, I hope to host gatherings. What I mean is to have some people over to discuss a topic found in books, movies, or music regularly. This is something I wanted to host last year, but I never got around to doing it.
Fourth, I hope to memorize some poetry. I have never memorized poetry from the great poets, and I feel as though that is something I should do. People a long time ago had many poems memorized, and I think that memorizing poetry is something we should get back in the habit of doing. Also, along the lines of literature, I hope to read more books this year.
Fifth, I hope to learn as much as I can in wine and photography education. I hope to host my wine tasting events this year, and I hope to either help shoot in a photography gig or shoot my first photography gig.
Last but not least, I hope to grow more in my spiritual life. I hope to read more books about my faith, memorize Scripture verses, and stay up on the knife edge.
Now, what are your goals? What are you hoping to accomplish this year or what new habit are you hoping to put into practice? I'd love to hear some of your goals for 2020.
Cheers,
Chloe Elizabeth
